When Google announced it will enable scheduling emails in Gmail, we were all thrilled about it! After all, the majority of people are using Gmail as their preferred email service, and simplifying their lives in any way possible will be welcomed enthusiastically.
Previously, if you wanted to schedule your emails, you had to get a third-party add-on or simply accept to send your emails without the option for scheduling. How many times were you working late at night and remembered you needed to send an important email, but it was already past midnight?
Being able to write that email right away and schedule it for sending in the morning is something that would tremendously help in situations like these. Thankfully, Gmail recognized our almost devastating need for this feature and decided to launch it in April 2019.

If you want to schedule it from your Gmail mobile app, the process is completely the same. The only difference is that instead of scheduling it by pressing the triangle next to the send button, you will need to click the three dots in the top right corner. You will notice a new folder called the “Scheduled folder” both on your desktop and mobile. Just click on that particular email in the folder and click on the option “Cancel Send” to prevent this message from being sent at all. This email will go straight to your drafts so you will not lose it entirely if you need details from that email for something else.
You can even schedule emails for a few years out. It might seem a bit unlikely to write an email that needs to be scheduled a few years from now, but there are many situations where this could be very helpful.
For instance, you could schedule all birthday emails to your employees or business partners immediately when they tell you the date so you don’t forget about it later. You can schedule an email for your company’s anniversary, which will be sent to your internal email list on that date.
